Prove your right to work

You can prove your right to work with a Home Office share code or a document. If you have a Home Office share code, enter it in the right-to-work requirement in Application and checks and CleanHelp checks it with the Home Office. If you do not have one, upload your right to work document instead. CleanHelp reviews that evidence before approving you for work.

What to do

  1. 01

    Open the requirement

Open Application and checks, then choose the right-to-work requirement for your application.

  2. 02

    Send a share code

Enter your share code and date of birth, then choose Send share code. A share code is nine characters and starts with W. You can get one at gov.uk under "prove your right to work". The Home Office check needs the same date of birth you gave them.

  3. 03

    Or upload the document

If you do not have a share code, upload a clear, current right to work document through the same requirement. Do not send identity evidence through ordinary messages.

  4. 04

    Follow the review

Return to the requirement to follow the review. CleanHelp keeps a share code only until an operator has checked it. If it says Action needed, read the reason and send a new share code or replace only the evidence requested.

  5. 05

    Renew a share code check

If your share code check has an expiry date, the requirement shows it as the date approaches. Choose Send a new share code before it expires so your work is not interrupted.
